{"id":202192,"date":"2025-12-16T21:52:49","date_gmt":"2025-12-16T21:52:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ar-assemblaggio.com\/?p=202192"},"modified":"2025-12-17T16:41:16","modified_gmt":"2025-12-17T16:41:16","slug":"nails-industrial-fastening-types-applications","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ar-assemblaggio.com\/en\/blog\/nails-industrial-fastening-types-applications\/","title":{"rendered":"Nails for industrial fastening: different types for different applications"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>How to choose the right ones?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The  <strong>nail<\/strong>needs no introduction &#8211; everyone knows it and how it works; whether wide-headed, fine-headed, long, short or made of any material, it remains the undisputed king of <strong>fastening<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Their function always remains <strong>indisputably necessary,<\/strong> but the various types available on the market make them more or less suited to their apparently simple task.<br \/>\nIn this article we&#8217;ll clear up any doubts by showing the <strong>strengths and weaknesses<\/strong> of each type of nail and which jobs they are more or less suited to.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Coil nails: <\/strong><br \/>\nThese nails are bound together by electro-welding, which keeps them joined, and are usually ordered for large-scale jobs.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>types<\/strong> that can be used in this kind of collation are <strong>manifold<\/strong> ; here are some examples:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><u>Tapered smooth nails<\/u>: these are the classic smooth nails, excellent for woodwork; depending on their length they work deep, increasing the hold<\/li>\n<li><u>Tapered ringed<\/u><\/li>\n<li><u>Tapered screw (helical)<\/u><\/li>\n<li><u>Screw<\/u><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The choice of nail must always be weighed according to the job, so as to balance <strong>cost<\/strong> with the <strong>quality of the work<\/strong>. Good hold can certainly be achieved, for example, with <strong>screw (helical) nails<\/strong>, but for simple jobs cheaper and equally effective is the <strong>smooth nail.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Stick nails: <\/strong><br \/>\nIn industry, this type of nail collation is used for its<strong> lightness<\/strong>. Its low weight in fact allows a more <strong>manageable<\/strong> use of the nailer, which is easier to handle even over <strong>long working periods. <\/strong><br \/>\nUsually the types available in this format remain the classic smooth and screw (helical) ones.<\/p>\n<p><strong>T-Nails: <\/strong><br \/>\nThis particular type of nail is T-shaped and finds its main use in finishing work in construction and carpentry.<br \/>\nThese nails are found mainly in <strong>steel<\/strong> and allow a <strong>strong hold<\/strong>. The two broad categories they fall into are divided by the material the nails are applied to, namely: steel and concrete, or wood.<br \/>\nSo this type of nail becomes necessary for a wide range of applications.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Screw nails: <\/strong><br \/>\nSometimes, in certain types of work, the situation calls for <strong>timings<\/strong> that must be strictly met, making it necessary to use <strong>specific equipment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Classic nails, such as smooth ones, are sometimes difficult to remove, requiring levers to pull them out which, in most cases, ruin the material they are fixed to.<br \/>\nQuite a nuisance, isn&#8217;t it? Yet there is a <strong>solution<\/strong> simple and effective one: the <strong>screw nail<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong> Screw nails<\/strong> are nails that have a thread along their length and a cross slot on the head, just like a screw. The advantage of this particular type of nail is that they are designed to be driven in just like a nail, with tools such as the nailer.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s easy to see, then, that it can be <strong>quickly<\/strong> driven in and easily extracted like a true <strong>screw<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>To give an idea of the time <strong>saved<\/strong>, just think of using a screwdriver, which takes a great deal of time compared to a <strong>pneumatic nailer. <\/strong><br \/>\nA further strength of screw nails is their <strong>hold<\/strong>. The thread, besides being a real help in pulling the nail out, creates additional friction for a hold that is far more <strong>secure<\/strong>.<br \/>\nUsually screw nails are collated on strips; this way they speed up and <strong>simplify the work<\/strong> of workers, avoiding tool jams and saving time, since they come in blocks of 50 pieces.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pallet nails for pneumatic nailers: <\/strong><br \/>\nA major need for which nailers are used is making <strong>pallets<\/strong>. These platforms are made for transporting goods and serve as a base to keep them off the ground and to allow them to be moved with the appropriate equipment.<\/p>\n<p>In transport companies, then, it&#8217;s immediately clear that there are certainly two needs, namely: <strong>solidity and safety<\/strong>. Pallet assembly must also be fast, which justifies using a pneumatic nailer, certainly equipped with <a href=\"\/en\/our-products\/nails\/\"><strong>pallet nails<\/strong><\/a><strong>. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This particular type of nail has the peculiarity &#8211; besides being available in different sizes and so adapting to making any pallet &#8211; of having a slight <strong>thread<\/strong> along its length that makes it hard to extract, so the pallet gains <strong>high stability and strength. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All these small details will make shipments, whether by air or sea, highly <strong>safe<\/strong>.
